Idaho public procurement sources, by buying authority

Idaho has no single public bid board. Each authority advertises its own work on its own source, and registering with one subscribes you to that one. This register names who buys what, where it is advertised, and, for each source, the work that checking it still leaves you blind to.

Federal

SAM.gov (U.S. federal government)

Federal contract opportunities across agencies, including sources-sought and presolicitation notices, current solicitations and award notices. Federal work performed in Idaho is advertised here rather than on any Idaho board.

Checking this source does not cover:

  • State of Idaho, city, county and highway district work, none of which is federal procurement.
  • Subcontracting opportunities under a federal prime contract, which are arranged by the prime and are not advertised as notices.
  • Work you are eligible for but whose notice uses a NAICS code or keyword you did not search.

To receive notices or submit: An active SAM.gov entity registration with a Unique Entity ID is required before a federal award can be made. Confirm the current registration steps and renewal cadence on SAM.gov itself.

State of Idaho

Idaho Division of Purchasing

Open and future solicitations that the Division of Purchasing manages on behalf of state agencies, largely goods and services.

Checking this source does not cover:

  • State facility construction, which the Division of Public Works advertises separately.
  • Highway and transportation construction, advertised by the Idaho Transportation Department.
  • Any city, county or highway district solicitation.
  • Solicitations that individual agencies run under their own delegated authority rather than through this division.

To receive notices or submit: Register as a vendor and select the commodity categories you want notices for. Confirm the current process on the division's own pages, and make sure the notified address is a monitored mailbox rather than one person's inbox.

Idaho Division of Public Works

Construction advertisements and bid results for state-owned facility projects: new buildings, renovations and related trade work.

Checking this source does not cover:

  • Goods and non-construction services, handled by the Division of Purchasing.
  • Road, bridge and highway construction, handled by the Idaho Transportation Department and by local highway districts.
  • City-owned facility projects, which the city advertises itself.

To receive notices or submit: Projects are advertised publicly. Licensing, bonding, insurance and prequalification requirements are stated per project in the advertisement and bid documents, so read them per project rather than assuming last project's terms carry over.

Idaho Transportation Department

Advertised state transportation construction projects and the contractor bidding process for them.

Checking this source does not cover:

  • Locally owned roads. A street inside a city or a road under a highway district is that authority's procurement, not the department's.
  • State facility construction, handled by the Division of Public Works.
  • Non-construction goods and services.

To receive notices or submit: Transportation construction bidding typically carries its own prequalification, bonding and plan-holder requirements. Confirm the current requirements on the department's contractor bidding pages before planning a bid.

City

City of Boise

City of Boise purchasing: vendor registration and the city's own solicitations, issued through the procurement system named on that page.

Checking this source does not cover:

  • Every other Treasure Valley jurisdiction. Neighbouring cities each run their own procurement, and registering with Boise subscribes you to Boise only.
  • Ada County Highway District work, which covers roads inside Boise but is a separate authority with a separate bid source.
  • State and federal work performed in Boise.

To receive notices or submit: Register as a vendor and select the categories you want to be notified about. Registering with one buyer never subscribes you to another, which is the single most common cause of a missed local bid.

Highway district

Ada County Highway District

Bids and procurement for the district, which owns and maintains the public roads, bridges and related right-of-way across Ada County, including the streets inside Boise.

Checking this source does not cover:

  • City of Boise work that is not roadway, even though it is in the same geography.
  • State highways, which remain with the Idaho Transportation Department.
  • Highway districts in other Idaho counties, each of which procures separately.

To receive notices or submit: Opportunities are posted on the district's bids and procurement page. Requirements are stated per project. A contractor working inside Boise city limits often has to watch both this source and the city's.

Assistance

Idaho APEX Accelerator

No-cost government contracting assistance for Idaho businesses: counselling on registration, eligibility, bid preparation and finding the right buying authority.

Checking this source does not cover:

  • It is not a bid board. It advertises no solicitations of its own, and its separately offered bid-match subscription is not a substitute for checking each authority's official source.
  • It cannot answer a question about a live solicitation on the buyer's behalf. Those go through the solicitation's stated question process, before its stated deadline.

To receive notices or submit: Contact the accelerator directly to begin counselling. This is an independent public resource and is listed here as a resource, not as an endorsement of any software.

Reuse and citation

This register is free to quote, link to and build on, including commercially, and no permission or email is needed. Attribution is requested so a reader can find the current version, because the value of a link register is entirely in whether it is up to date.

Cite it as:

The same data is available for reuse without scraping the page: JSON and CSV. Each entry carries a stable id, so a citation can point at one authority rather than the whole page.

If an authority is missing, a URL has moved, or a scope description is wrong, tell us at hello@brostco.com and it will be corrected. A correction is not conditional on using the software.

This register points to official sources and is not legal or procurement advice. Each authority's own page is the system of record for its opportunities, requirements and deadlines. Scope descriptions here summarise what a source advertises and can go out of date between checks; verify against the authority before relying on one.

Watching several sources at once

The register describes the problem; keeping up with six sources is the work. BrostCo monitors SAM.gov and supported portals, scores what matches your company profile, and prepares the bid work for your team to review and submit. A manually imported local notice is a saved input, not a promise that the local portal is being watched for changes.
